The Department of Psychology was established in the year 2022. The first batch passed out in the year 2025. As a growing and dynamic discipline, the Department of Psychology is dedicated to providing insightful and innovative learning experiences that foster both personal and professional development. The department strives to uphold high academic standards through active and continuous engagement among students, professors, peers, and professionals. COURSE OUTCOMES
The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to integrate contemporary trends in psychology, with a strong emphasis on practical training and fieldwork. Students are encouraged to understand human behaviour—both adaptive and maladaptive—through a foundation of ethical and moral responsibility. ELARIS is the official Psychology Association of the Department of Psychology, committed to promoting mental health awareness, academic enrichment, and student engagement. The association provides a platform for students to explore and apply psychological concepts beyond the classroom through workshops, awareness campaigns, and collaborative programs.
A key initiative of ELARIS is the organization of the department’s annual psychology fest, Espírito—a dynamic celebration of the human mind that blends academic insight with experiential learning. Alongside Espírito, the association conducts events on significant occasions such as World Mental Health Day and Suicide Prevention Day, fostering a well-informed and empathetic student community.
Annual Fest -ESPIRITO
Espírito, meaning "spirit" in Portuguese, is the annual psychology fest that celebrates the essence of human mind, behaviour, and creativity. Organized by the Department of Psychology, Espírito is a dynamic blend of academic exploration and cultural expression, providing a platform for students to showcase their psychological insight, talent, and passion.The fest features a wide array of thoughtfully curated spaces and events, including a Games Room that explores cognitive skills and group dynamics, a Parapsychology Room that delves into unexplored dimensions of perception, a Movie Room screening films with psychological themes, a Monochromatic room that offers a hands-on experience of colour perception under red light, a Photo Booth for creative expression, a Meditation Room for mindfulness and self-awareness, and a Period Pain Stimulator experience aimed at fostering empathy and awareness of gender-based health experiences. With spirited participation from students across departments and institutions, Espírito fosters a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and celebration of the human psyche.

- 1. Poster presentation on Suicide prevention day September 10 2024
- 2. On World Mental Health Day, psychology department organized an awareness session and a poster-making competition on the theme “Mental Health Matters”, in collaboration with Athma – My Mind, My Care and Mar Chrysostom College, to promote foster awareness, reduce stigma, and promote the importance of mental well-being among students.
